This blog represents my reflective analysis of my ongoing creative practice and practice-led research into approaches towards the cinematographic sublime landscape, specifically how cinematographers use landscape to infer emotion and poetics within a narrative.

It aims to be a collection of thoughts, feelings, ideas and suggestions concerning my PhD studies, and will ultimately feed in to my final thesis.

In keeping with the methodology I will be using in my academic work I will be presenting my writing here autoethnographically, and within this I’ll be developing a way of talking about affect in cinematography.

This means it might get a little touchy-feely and I will be cussing freely.
